MIDDLEBURG ACADEMY: 0
The FCS Eagles Varsity Soccer Team played Middleburg Academy yesterday
and won 4-0. In the 9th minute, Jordan Manning ripped a long shot
outside the penalty box to get the FCS scoring drive rolling. In the
25th minute, Cal McDaniels crossed the ball off the tips of the keepers
hands, and Brandon Burton headed it in for a goal. In the 50th minute,
Jacob Chang popped in a shot that deflected off the keeper. And in the
70th minute, Brandon Burton scored again by driving it down the flanks
and blasting a shot that clipped the near post yet still slammed the
back of the net.
Outstanding defense performance by Josh Peerbolte, who was starting for
the first time this season. Cal McDaniels had to move to defense due to
injuries, and helped to keep the opponents scoreless.
